Savannah

The Story Behind the Name:
Savannah is the name of someone that is so important not only in my life but to so many people. She left us too soon. Savannah would be so excited to know that her name was given to such a beautiful creature. Savannah loves the elusiveness of sharks which is a lot like her.
Savannah is smiling now knowing that she is making a difference to assist, educate and protect sharks around the world. Savannah continues to make a difference to all. Savannah will always be swimming in every Ocean surrounding her family and friends with peace and love…

Savannah is adopted and named by Jim Payne in remembrance of his daughter, Savannah.

Satellite Tagging:
Savannah was carefully tagged with the latest in satellite tag technology providing us with the first opportunity to follow the long-term movements of these threatened species. Please keep checking back frequently to follow Savannah’s movements, which will be updated every few days as her satellite tag continues to send us real-time tracking data.

Adopt-a-Shark: For information on how you can contribute to our shark conservation research by adopting and tracking your own shark, please visit our Adopt a Shark page.
