About Nika

The Story Behind the Name:
The Board of Governors of the State University System wanted to thank Nika Hosseini, the daughter of its Chair Mori Hosseini, for giving up her time to help tag a beautiful and fierce bull shark to be named after her father. Appropriately, a gorgeous tiger shark will be named “Nika.’ Nika is a student of the environment and cares deeply for our oceans. The word “tiger” is more than appropriate to describe this talented individual.
