Blu the Shark

The Story Behind the Name:
Sometimes it can be tough to stay motivated, but not for sharks! Sharks are up early, biting things, chasing stuff, being scary, and reminding everyone they’re a shark!

That’s why when our agency was founded in 2015, we decided to name it BLUshark Digital! We are so excited to have Blu the Shark as our mascot, and to support the SRC’s research to track and better understand all the Blu’s of the sea!

Satellite Tagging:
Blu the Shark was carefully tagged with the latest in satellite tag technology providing us with the first opportunity to follow the long-term movements of these threatened species. Please keep checking back frequently to follow her movements, which will be updated every few days as her satellite tag continues to send us real-time tracking data.

Adopt-a-Shark: For information on how you can contribute to our shark conservation research by adopting and tracking your own shark, please visit our Adopt a Shark page.
